SUMMER COOKOUT PLAYLIST
It's that time of year...
I made a mix:
It’s a playlist for your next summer gathering. A diverse, four-hour mix of rock, soul, hip-hop, R&B, reggae, dancehall, hawaiian guitar, golden oldies, garage rock, and more. It’s meant to please everyone.
This is something to be played while the grill is going, people are drinking beers, and the sun is beginning to set. Nothing too intense, nothing too quiet. All intended to feel summery.
Some highlights:
Butter 08 “Butter of 69”
The beginning of this song sounds like what a heatwave feels like.
Harlem World “I Like It”
This one sounds like what playing in a busted-open fire hydrant feels like.
Shintaro Sakamoto “The World Should Be More Wonderful”
This song feels like the first day of a beach vacation, when you wake up and open the window to a view of the beach.
Tamia & Fabolous “Into You”
This song reminds me of living in the city, with blasting their car stereo at top volume with the bass turned up in the least annoying way.
The Ventures “Theme From A Summer Place”
This one feels like the idea of summer.
Let me know what YOUR summer jams are, and I hope you can put this on and get in the summer mood.
